Jazz

Jazz incorporates contemporary and primitive styles of movement.  Although the movements are less rigidly formalized than in ballet, the exercises develop the ability to move and control each part of the body.  It is an exciting dance form that expands the student’s sense of interpretation and movement.  NYAB practices traditional jazz techniques developed by Bob Fosse, Frank Hatchett,  and Kenneth Green along with bringing influences from contemporary jazz today.
