Contemporary

          Contemporary dance at NYAB strives to work on the power of emotion in performance. It is a blend of lyrical and modern dance influenced by contemporary artists such as Brian Friedman, Mia Michaels, and Sonya Tayeh.  Technique within the class is based from classical modern and ballet while influenced by release technique and Bartenieff Fundamentals, allowing the body to remain in control while completely letting go and defying gravity.
