Poughkeepsie City Ballet (PCB) is the official performance company for New York Academy of Ballet. PCB is a pre-professional company designed to challenge dancers that desire a career in dance, giving them a professional environment to work in with college and professional level dancers. The company is managed by Alessia Gaetana Santoro (BFA dance), jazz and modern staff at NYAB. Works performed by the company are primarily modern works choreographed by Alessia Gaetana Santoro and other guest choreographers.
Admission into the company is done annually by invitation only by the company director. Once accepted into Poughkeepsie City Ballet, dancers must attend ballet and modern classes held at New York Academy of Ballet along with company rehearsals held at NYAB.
The performance season for PCB runs from September-June with a wide variety of works and performance venues. Our culminating season ends with a performance of a new work at the Bardavon Opera House with the New York Academy of Ballet.
